Actually the story of Santa Claus is related to a saint. His name was – Saint Nicholas. He was born in the city of Myra in 280 AD. Mayra is a city in Turkey. The family in which Saint Nicholas was born was a very wealthy family. And his parents were of religious nature.
Saint Nicholas was also very religious by nature. He was also very generous and charitable. This is a one time event. There were three daughters in a family. they were very poor. His father did not have money for his daughters’ marriage. Nicholas wanted to help them. So he secretly dropped a sack full of gold coins from their chimney. The family was shocked. But all three of those sisters got married.
Later St. Nicholas also became the Bishop of Myra. He helped the poor a lot.
Santa Claus is known by many other names. Like Father Christmas, St. Nicholas, St. Nick, Kris Kringle or just Santa.
