Soichiro Honda was born on November 17, 1906, in Komayo, Hamamatsu, Japan. His father’s name was Gheri Honda, he was a blacksmith by profession, as well as buying and repaired old worn out bicycles to support the family. His mother Mika used to help in running the family by weaving and sewing.

Soichiro Honda also used to help his father in his work since childhood. Soichiro Honda had inherited the zeal for any work, the urge to learn, and the quality of working with full discipline from his father. While working with his father, he became a good engineer, but he was not interested in his studies. That’s why he started looking for a job at 16.

Looking for a job at 16, he got a job as a sweeper at Art Shokai Auto Repair Shop in Tokyo. Staying here, he wanted to learn the work of car repair day and night and that is why he worked day and night to teach the company’s owner Saki Bahara the work of car repair. For this, the owner sent it to another branch where racing cars were made at night. Soichiro Honda learned the job of car repairing within a few days on the strength of his dedication and hard work, and after this, on 23 November 1924, the Sokai company car took part in the 5th Japan Car Championship and won first place in it. Soichiro Honda was working as a mechanic for the car that won that race. With this victory, Sokai’s car became Tokyo’s favorite car. After this, several branches of that company were opened, out of which the responsibility of handling one branch was given to 21-year-old Soichiro Honda. After a few years, he left the company, returned home, and started his own mechanic. After some time they started manufacturing cheap and durable piston rings for large companies. Within a short time, he started a company named Tociki with his deposits, approached large companies to sell his manufactured pistons, and soon got orders from Toyota Company to supply piston rings.

Everything was going well that suddenly he had an accident, and due to 3 months in hospital he had to suffer a lot in his company still he did not give up and worked on the quality of his pistons and got orders again from companies. started trying Then in the year 1944, during the Second World War, his factory completely burnt down and an earthquake also occurred.

Even after these events, Soichiro Honda did not give up and sold the remnants of his factory for 450,000 yen and with that money opened the Honda Technical Research Institute in October 1946. Japan’s economy was completely devastated by the defeat in the war and the earthquake, forcing people to walk or cycle. That’s when an idea came to Soichiro Honda’s mind and he made a small engine and attached it to the bicycle. People liked this very much and they started selling this bike in the name of Chuchu for only 1500 rupees.
Then in the year 1949, he changed the name of the Honda Technical Research Institute company to Honda Motors and launched a bike with a 2-stroke engine. After the improvement of Japan’s economy, he also started making cars in the year 1980 and his company’s cars competed with American cars in terms of quality.
